Millennium Neurosurgery has been based in Maplewood, Minnesota for almost 5 years, and also operates a satellite clinic in Cottage Grove, Minnesota.  The practice has also opened an additional full-time clinic in Plymouth, MN

The practice was founded in 1998 by P. Thienprasit, M.D., Ph.D. and has recently added two new physicians.

The practice offers general neurosurgical services including full spectrum spinal surgeries, skull based surgery, brain and spinal tumors, vascular disease, peripheral nervous system, movement disorders and radiosurgery.

The clinic has a policy of providing prompt consultations for patients with a diagnosis of brain or spinal tumor, within 24 hours or next business day, if the patient so desires, to expedite treatment plans for patients.

Millennium Neurosurgery accepts most health care plans, including Blue Cross/Blue Shield of MN, Medica, HealthPartners, PreferredOne, UCare, Medicare, Railroad Medicare, Wisconsin Medical Assistance, Araz, Choice Plus, Tricare, Select Care, First Health, Allina IPN, HealthEast Care and Worker's Compensation Insurance.

Dr. Thienprasit Dr. Thienprasit is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Neurosurgery Training Program where he also completed a doctorate in Neurosurgery in 1975. He has held the appointment of Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Minnesota and has served as Chief of the Neuroscience Department at United Hospital in St. Paul. He is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He practices general neurosurgery with specific expertise in vascular diseases of the nervous system, diseases of the spine, and peripheral nerves. He has recently developed a very active practice in spinal fusions.

Dr. Feldkamp

Dr. Matthias M. Feldkamp was born in Toronto, Canada and received his medical degree with honors from the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, in 1991.  He completed his surgical internship at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto in 1992 and his neurosurgical residency at the University of Toronto in 2000.  During his residency, he pursued additional training in cancer research, focusing on the causes and treatment of malignant brain tumors.  He was awarded a Ph.D. degree by the University of Toronto in 2001, and has been awarded numerous awards for his research, including the Preuss Award for Neurosurgical Research by the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and Congress of Neurological Surgeons Joint Section on Tumors in 1999.  Dr. Feldkamp completed a clinical fellowship in neurosurgical oncology at Toronto Western Hospital in 2001.  He is dually certified in Neurosurgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Board of Neurological Surgeons.

Dr. Feldkamp was previously in practice at MeritCare Clinic and Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota.  He practices general neurosurgery with a subspecialty interest in the surgical management of brain tumors and spinal reconstruction.

Dr. Feldkamp is married with one son.

 

 Dr. Harrison

Dr. Harrison joined Millennium Neurosurgery in August 2002.  He has special interests in neurosurgery that include brain tumors, and spine and vascular disease.

Dr. Harrison earned a Bachelor of Science in biology at Yale University in 1990.  After spending a year in epilepsy research at UCLA in Los Angeles, he attended Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.  Dr. Harrison graduated in 1995 with AOA honors and completed his neurosurgical residency at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio.  In 2001 Dr. Harrison traveled to Melbourne, Australia to complete a tumor and skull-based fellowship year at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.

After all his world studies, Dr. Harrison returned home to the Twin Cities.  He grew up in Minnetonka, Minnesota where he played ice hockey for the Minnetonka Senior High Skippers and graduated in 1986.  At Yale, he played varsity hockey for four years with the Elis.
